EUROPEAN EMERGING CRAFT PLATFORM

We are an international platform connecting 12 organisations from 12 European countries supporting new and emerging craft artists and practitioners, helping them collaborate, develop their skills, and promote their work nationally and internationally. We encourage co-creation and the use of new technologies to innovate the craft industry, preserve its history, and shape its future. We also aim to engage marginalised communities and institutions to raise awareness of the needs of emerging craft artists and improve their representation in the sector.

PRINCIPLES TO SHAPE THE CRAFT SECTOR

We preserve, develop, and promote Europe’s cultural and linguistic diversity. Through initiatives like the Repository, Coffee Talks, Craft Academy, and Nomadic Map, the platform showcases its identity and mission directly involving around 3,500 craft artists, strengthening the impact of this shared vision.

We foster artistic collaboration, innovation, and mobility in Europe’s creative sector. Through Craft Labs, workshops, and training, it supports craft artists—including 388 with direct funding—to grow their skills and impact.

We support emerging crafters by fostering creativity, lifelong learning, and fair opportunities. Key initiatives focus on new creation models, skills development, and strategy building. The platform promotes gender equality, fair pay, and better working conditions, ensuring a more inclusive and diverse craft sector.

We promote cultural participation, well-being, and environmental awareness through sustainable co-creation projects aligned with the European Green Deal. By supporting residencies, mobility programs, festivals, and craft labs, the platform provides emerging artists with space to create, collaborate, and showcase culturally unique applied arts across Europe.

We promote European craft worldwide through a shared brand, vision, and community. By fostering global connections, it strengthens engagement and visibility beyond the EU.

Starting in its second year, the platform will welcome new members from outside the EU, aiming to include at least 10 more countries by 2027, expanding its impact internationally.

We help crafters enhance their competitiveness by enabling virtual participation and showcasing their work on an innovative web platform.
