I am Maja Modrijan, a sustainable designer, craftswoman, and founder of Destilator, a brand of upcycled goods.
For over 20 years, I have been actively exploring the potential of discarded materials, combining different waste and natural materials with both contemporary and traditional techniques.
I develop high-quality products with a distinctive design signature, including clothes, bags, wallets, folders, frames, shoes, hand made paper and many more.
My products stand out for their quality, local recycling, durability, uniqueness, vegan materials, Slovenian production, and the extensive use of handcraft, traditional knowledge, and attention to detail.
Some products are made to order, especially collections for personal or corporate gifts and tourist souvenirs. These become even more meaningful when made from materials discarded by the customers themselves, whether from their homes, offices, or production processes.
I share my knowledge through lectures and workshops, and organise circular fashion shows, exhibitions, and other events dedicated to the creative reduction of waste.
Sustainable design and craftsmanship are both my profession and my playground.
