Center Rog

Center Rog’s activities are closely connected to the artistic and craft sector by providing space, tools, and programmes that support contemporary making, experimentation, and skill development. Through its production labs, workshops and residencies, artists and craftspeople can work with both traditional techniques and modern technologies, encouraging innovation within established practices. Center Rog also promotes knowledge exchange between designers, artisans, and the wider public, helping bridge art, craft, and social engagement. By supporting collaborative and socially relevant projects, it strengthens the role of art and craftsmanship in today’s cultural and creative landscape.

In addition to its core labs (FabLab, Wood Lab, Metal Lab, Textile Lab, Green Lab, Ceramics Lab, Glass Lab, Jewelry Lab and Food Lab), Center Rog offers a wide range of activities that engage diverse audiences and support creative development. It runs guided tours, workshops and courses for children and adults, masterclasses and technical trainings across its nine production labs. It hosts residency programmes with living-work studios for international artists, researchers, and creatives, fostering exchange and collaboration. The venue includes project studios supporting individual makers and teams, as well as a market area with a café, restaurant, and multiple shops selling local and design products. The Rog Library, exhibition hall, and social spaces further broaden its cultural role. Center Rog regularly issues open calls, project partnerships, and events, including design festivals and showings that celebrate innovation, sustainability, and socially meaningful work. All these activities contribute to an inclusive and dynamic creative ecosystem.

Center Rog has been a part of several projects, including Glass tradition meets innovation (Creative Europe small cooperation project), developing original methodologies for the green and digital transition of creative glass practices with new tools ; MADE IN 2.0: Made in Platform for Contemporary Craft & Design (Creative Europe Cooperation project), during which we have hosted a residency with bioMATTERS ; Act&Art For Positive Social Change project (Erasmus + / European Solidarity Corps), where we tried to equip artists, community leaders and art educators with key skills and competences for a sustainable career in the field of crafts ; Shemakes - Opportunity Ecosystems Bridging the Gender Gap (Horizon 2020 project), with the aim of empowering future female innovators of the sustainable fashion industry through inspiration, skills, and networks ; FabLabNet project (2016 – 2019) funded by Interreg Central Europe programme , developing several pilots testing the opportunities of connecting new fabrication technologies with businesses, educational institutions, and local communities including crafts and many others.

We are part of several international creative and innovation networks, including the FabLab Network, Vulca Network, Distributed Design Platform, Made IN Platform, Creative Europe, the New European Bauhaus Network and Horizon SHEmakes, as well as broader European design and maker movements.
