FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Eligibility and Application Process

Can people from countries not listed as official partners still apply?

Yes, applicants from other European countries and specific non-EU Creative Europe Programme countries are eligible. The key requirement is residency, not citizenship.

What if I am applying as a duo? How will we be evaluated?

You can apply as a duo, but your collaboration will be evaluated based on the countries you reside in. The evaluation scores differ depending on whether you are from the same country, a different eligible country, or the host country.

Can I apply for more than one residency?

Yes, you can apply for up to two residencies in the application form to increase your chances of being selected.

What defines “living in” a country? Is citizenship enough?

Residency is the key factor, and while citizenship can sometimes be part of it, the sending organization will ask for proof of residency.

Residency Logistics & Resources

Where can I find a list of the residencies and their dates?

The list of all residencies and their dates is available via a provided link. The specific links and details for each residency will be sent via email.

Do the residencies cover travel and accommodation?

Yes, the sending organization is responsible for covering both travel and accommodation costs for the selected participants.

Will the online meetings and presentations be recorded and shared?

The first general presentation was recorded and will be shared. However, subsequent online sessions with individual residencies will not be recorded to encourage live interaction.

Specific Craft and Technique Availability

Are there any residency programs for a specific craft, like pottery, textiles, or wood engraving?

The availability of specific tools and crafts varies by location. For example, some residencies offer a kiln but no pottery wheel, while others have laser cutting and wood engraving machines. It is best to check with the specific host organization.

Can I apply if I am a beginner or have an intermediate skill level?

Yes, the residencies are open to participants with various skill levels, including beginners and intermediates, especially for innovative techniques like 3D printing clay.

Are there opportunities for specific artistic projects, such as bookbinding, fashion design, or architecture?

Yes, several residencies are open to these fields, particularly if they involve innovative materials and techniques. Participants are encouraged to attend the online sessions for each host country to get more specific information.
