Project Title: “Stitched Ukraine or Healing”
An artist from another country and I will create an artistic map of Ukraine from textiles, divided into separate regions. As an artist and textile graphic artist, I work with watercolor on fabric, depicting regions that have remained intact. My partner, using his own technique (for example, embroidery, applique or painting), recreates those territories that have been destroyed or are still under occupation. He depicts a new, bright future for them. All parts are connected by crochet and lace into a symbolic image of a healed Ukraine.
Our project combines two crafts — textile painting and the craft technique of another artist — in a deep dialogue. My personal contribution is the creation of the artistic concept, painting on fabric, compositional solution and final stitching. The expected result is a large-scale map, ready to be displayed in exhibitions as a symbol of collaboration, remembrance, and healing through art.
