Craft Happening: Participatory Eco-Responsible Stained Glass Workshop

For the upcoming Carrousel des Métiers d’Art et de Création, Jérôme Gaussin – Artisan du Vitrail • Paris – is presenting a unique live creation performance: “Light Fragments”, a contemporary stained glass piece based on an original composition by visual artist Lukas Works. A master glassmaker based in Paris, Jérôme develops a practice that combines traditional know-how with contemporary experimentation, with a particular focus on sustainable materials.
Alongside Jérôme, the public will be invited to take part in certain stages of the process, notably discovering how glass is cut, from up close, at the heart of the master glassmaker’s gestures.
The stained glass piece will be assembled using an eco-responsible biopolymer that replaces traditional lead – an innovation developed in the Parisian studio.
