Craft Happening in Barcelona – Modular Mechanical Landscapes: Exploring Rhythm, Sound, and Matter

29 September @ 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
modular mechanical landscapes barcelona

Are you an artist or craftsperson interested in making matter vibrate, composing with rhythm, and designing through movement?

Modular Mechanical Landscapes is a creative one-day gathering organized by Espronceda, Institute of Art and Culture, as part of the European project Craftwork 4.0 ALL. This Craft Happening brings together artists, designers, and creators in a temporary lab where sound, mechanics, and material converge into a collective artwork.

Throughout the day, participants will explore the creation of sound sculptures using lightweight materials, basic electronics, and simple mechanical systems. Through repetition, rhythm, and movement, each person will build a sound-producing module that interacts with others. The result: a living and evolving installation—a composition of minimal machines breathing together.

What to expect

  • A collaborative and inspiring environment.
  • Time and space to experiment, build, and connect.
  • An interdisciplinary approach that merges craft, sound art, and accessible technology.
  • The opportunity to contribute to a collective artwork piece, co-created by all participants, which may be presented during the Festival organized by ESPRONCEDA, Institute of Art and Culture in 2026–2027
