Based on Funchal’s famous “Street of Painted Doors,” ARThub Madeira is an active artistic venue that was created in partnership with ARTE.M—Associação Cultural e Artística na Madeira.

Located on the island of Madeira — often called the “Atlantic pearl” and still little known internationally despite its vibrant culture — the hub builds on the island’s unique identity as both remote and deeply connected to Europe.

A co-working zone, exhibition galleries, studios, and workshop spaces are all part of it, providing an open, collaborative setting for up to fifty individuals to create and work.

In addition to seminars, cultural projects, and European programs like Creative Europe and Erasmus+, the center also exhibits fifteen to thirty exhibitions annually. Local and international artists, both emerging and experienced, use the facility to create projects that integrate art with community, sustainability, and intercultural interaction.

Our objective is to bring the creative community of Madeira closer to the rest of Europe and to use art to promote positive social, environmental, and communal change.
