Cultural Center Semmama

The cultural center hosting the event is easily accessible by both public and private transportation, with good connections to main roads and transit routes. The venue features a dedicated on-site parking lot with ample space for visitors. All activities will take place on the ground floor, ensuring full accessibility without the need for stairs or elevators. This makes the location convenient for all attendees, including those with mobility considerations.

themes involved in our work

  • Circularity (e.g. reusing materials)
  • Inclusion (of people with fewer opportunities)

Expected and aspired co-creation

The final piece is a handcrafted lamp made entirely from natural and locally sourced materials, designed to project a starry sky effect onto the ceiling when lit. The lamp will feature a dome-shaped structure woven from Alfa fiber, a traditional plant material commonly used by local women artisans. Over this frame, tanned sheepskin will be carefully stitched using Alfa thread. The leather will be perforated with patterns representing major constellations, allowing light to shine through the holes and create a starry projection. The piece blends traditional crafts, ecological materials, and poetic design, offering a unique object that symbolizes the connection between earth and sky, craft and imagination.
