Expected and aspired co-creation
BRAINSHOT proposes a co-creation residency focused on developing a limited series of sustainable, upcycled clothing pieces in collaboration with the Craft Practitioner. The final outcome will reflect a deep synergy between traditional craft techniques and BRAINSHOT’s core values: sustainability, mental health, inclusivity, and social impact through fashion and design.
The creative process will unfold through active participation in our established workshop series, including From Waste to Wow, Upcycling for a Better Future, and our ongoing collaboration with Aiginiteio Hospital’s psychiatric clinic. These workshops foster inclusive and therapeutic co-design environments, where discarded garments and textile waste are transformed into meaningful clothing. The practitioner will be embedded in these processes, learning from and contributing to a highly engaged community.
As the hosting organisation in Athens, we will culminate this residency during BRAINSHOT’s major new festival at Technopolis on October 22–23 — a multidisciplinary celebration of creativity and accessibility. The final clothing collection will be exhibited and activated during this event through live performances, inclusive showcases, and public talks, amplifying its impact beyond the workshop space.
What we seek
- A craft practitioner with strong knowledge in textile-related crafts (e.g., embroidery, natural dyeing, surface manipulation)
- A collaborative mindset, eager to work in inclusive and participatory settings
- A passion for turning social and ecological narratives into wearable, expressive forms
Together, we will create clothing that does more than dress — it communicates, connects, and challenges. This collaboration will not only produce a powerful final craft piece, but also strengthen inclusive, cross-border models of creative sustainability.
