Taking into account the objectives presented by the director of the Caravel Art Center, and the age group with which I was going to work, in this case retired people, for me it was essential to create an activity that was stimulating, creative but not childish. It was also important at this stage of the co-creation process to reflect on the importance of the activity being open in the creative sense, so that each person could feel free in their creation. I wanted to create a fan-shaped artist's book. I provided the materials, in this case cardboard and fabrics as the basic materials to develop the cover, and the pages to fill it in. Then for the creative part, the participants had paints, threads, markers and colored pencils at their disposal so they could express themselves in the language that made the most sense to them.
The co-creation process was something very natural, considering the synergy between me and the director of Caravel Art Center. From the beginning, I received concrete guidance on the objective of the activity, but I also had complete freedom to develop it within the intended objective. I decided to challenge the participants to create their own artist book, which, after creating it, they would fill in with a biographical story.
I really enjoyed the experience, I hope that in the future I can develop these and other activities that the Caravel Art Center wants to provide me.
