Simona Vráblová
My name is Simona and I am ceramist. Clay has been part of human culture since the first civilizations and I love carrying that ancient thread into the present. What excites me is how this humble material holds both memory and possibility: fragile yet enduring, simple yet infinitely expressive. My inspiration comes from nature—the textures of stone, the rhythm of waves, the quiet patterns of growth. Through clay, I feel connected to both the earth beneath us and the timeless human urge to create. With each piece I create, I feel my artistic voice emerging. Every curve and texture brings me closer to a style that is uniquely mine.
I discovered ceramics by coincidence while living in Finland back in 2017, and it has since become my passion. I do both handbuilt and wheel-throw ceramics, creating either functional pieces like kitchenware or decorative items- vases or small sculptures. I don’t have a single favorite technique, but recently I am drawn to sgraffito and decorative painting, often inspired by patterns found in nature. For me, working with clay is both grounding and limitless.
Craft projects
Vase
This handbuilt vase is inspired by the movement of ocean waves. Its irregular form captures the dynamic energy of the sea, while the dark spots and the pure, unglazed clay represent the earth and its natural variety, creating a balance between water and land in a single organic piece.
Ceramic Fox
A handbuilt ceramic fox, one of my earliest creations. Inspired by the wild foxes I often encountered while living in Finland, this piece captures a blend of curiosity and quiet grace.
Dessert plate
This wheel-thrown dessert plate is both functional kitchenware and a canvas for imagination. I hand-painted imaginary plants across its green blue surface. A piece meant to bring both beauty and a touch of fantasy to everyday moments.
Ceramic eggs
A collection of handbuilt ceramic eggs, each inspired by the forms and textures of nature. Finished in soft, matte colors, they bring a peaceful, decorative presence to any space, celebrating the simplicity and beauty of natural shapes.
