Hi! My name is Naemi and I’m a Swedish German graphic designer and ceramic artist. I love vintage ceramics, treasure hunting in second hands and collecting things. I’m drawn to the colors, shapes and patterns I see in everyday life and like to incorporate them in my work. If I could, I would love to try out all kinds of different crafts, since I’m curious to learn new techniques and explore different materials that I can later bring into my ceramic practice.

Like weaving yarn into a ceramic lampshade or mixing old glassware with handmade clay pieces. Finding new ways to work with clay and letting other crafts, as well as my graphic background, influence my work is what excites me most.

I mostly work with ceramics and completely fell in love with it the moment I tried it. My first class was in 2021 after years of collecting vintage tableware and dreaming about making my own pieces. After finishing my graphic design degree, which I spent mostly at home on my laptop during the pandemic, I really craved working with my hands again. So, I signed up for Hellidens folkhögskola and spent two amazing years learning everything I could about clay.

I throw a lot on the wheel, but I love mixing techniques and seeing what happens. My favorite part is definitely decorating. I could spend hours playing with colors, textures and patterns, figuring out how a shape and its surface can tell a story together.
