My Hasselgren

I am an animator and illustrator based in Stockholm, Sweden. I mix digital media with traditional techniques and am especially drawn to themes that explore social psychology.

I have always loved watching animated movies and dreamed of making films of my own. I made flipbook animations as a kid and have always been interested in character design and world building. When working, I love the element of surprise. Whether I work with digital animation, illustration or graphic design, it’s important for me to use analogue techniques in the process.

I am drawn to methods that force me to lose some control – and let chance be a part of the process. I have worked with many different printing techniques; such as collography, screen printing, intaglio, foam and linoleum but have always wanted to try litography.
