Kimona with Polish regional symbol Carlina Acaulis.j Photo Margareta Wilbik. peg Halina Rosa

Kimona with Polish regional symbol

The kimono is designed in an elegant, deep black fabric that creates a striking background for distinctive Podhale-inspired details. Its silhouette is fluid and relaxed, with wide sleeves typical of traditional kimono forms, giving it a sense of lightness and artistic expression.

The most prominent feature is the rich floral ornamentation placed on the sleeves and lower part of the garment. The motifs resemble the Carlina acaulis, a symbolic alpine flower connected to the Tatra Mountains and the cultural heritage of Podhale. The patterns are crafted with great attention to detail, in shades of green, soft pink, and ecru, reflecting the natural landscape and traditional highlander embroidery.

This kimono blends contemporary design with regional heritage—its minimalist form is enhanced by handcrafted-inspired decoration, creating a harmonious balance between tradition and modernity. It can be seen as wearable art, deeply rooted in the spirit of Podhale culture.
