Centrala Hub
Centrala Hub is a coworking space, event centre and creative community in Niš, southern Serbia. In our event zone and open-air courtyard we host craft workshops, exhibitions, creative markets, film nights and meetups, bringing together makers, artists, designers, developers and entrepreneurs. Since 2024 we have hosted more than 20 hands-on craft workshops with emerging local studios and run four editions of Bazar u Centrali, our open-air creative market. As one of the few independent community spaces in southern Serbia, we give local makers a venue, an audience and a network.

Links with craft sector
Centrala Hub works with emerging craft practitioners as a venue, organiser and promoter. We run regular craft workshop series with local studios — clay and terracotta sculpting, punch needle and tufting, textural and glass painting, illustration, mural painting and natural herbal cosmetics — giving young makers a recurring format, a space and an audience. Through Bazar u Centrali, our open-air creative market, makers sell directly to the public. We also host exhibitions, a resident artist programme, and events where craft meets technology, such as creative electronics workshops and VR screenings.
Materials
Ceramics and clay (regular use, through sculpting and terracotta workshops with KLEJA studio and the artists’ association HAK); fibre and textile (punch needle and tufting with Twenty Five Tufting Lab and Textura studio); glass painting (Atina Art); painting and illustration (Kontura Studio, monohromic studio); mural painting and natural cosmetics from medicinal herbs.
Engagement
Promoting and showcasing: markets, exhibitions and a resident artist programme, plus promotion through our channels. Training and educating: a recurring programme of hands-on workshops led by local practitioners. Collaborating: we co-create formats with studios, associations and communities in Niš. We also offer mentoring and advice on marketing and freelancing to the creatives in our community.
Activities
Beyond craft, Centrala Hub is a hub for the digital and creative community of Niš. We host design and tech meetups (Dizajn Zajednica, Endava, Zühlke, Serbia Game Association), organised AI Week 2026, a five-day festival of technology and creativity, and hosted DigiEduHack 2025. Our cultural programme includes film nights for young directors, book presentations, music compilation launches and art exhibitions. We also run learning formats on marketing, freelancing and soft skills, such as our monthly Marketing Masterclass series, and programmes for specific groups, like creative electronics workshops for girls with TinkPunk.
Projects
Bazar u Centrali — four editions of a two-day open-air creative market for local makers (since 2024). Craft workshop series — 20+ workshops with local studios, several of which now run regularly at Centrala. Centrala Fest — a festival combining an IT and startup day with a Nature & Art Day of craft workshops and exhibitions. AI Week 2026 — a five-day festival of technology and creativity. Exhibitions of local artists and illustrators, including our resident artist. Host venue for DigiEduHack 2025 and for the final conference of TRANSFORM, an Erasmus+ KA210 project.
