Sensus Studieforbund
We are a study association working with relationships, life issues, rights-based issues, and sustainability. Together with our member organisations and partners, we create spaces for culture and lifelong learning across the country. We also work extensively with projects in culture and crafts, with a strong focus on inclusive and traditional crafts. Through our activities, we promote craftsmanship, creativity, and inclusion, and support artisans in developing their skills, sharing their knowledge, and connecting with wider audiences.
Links with craft sector
Our activities are closely connected to the artistic and craft sector through education, capacity-building, and collaboration. We work with study circles together with individuals, member organisations, and partners to support both traditional and contemporary craft practices. We offer training, residencies, workshops, and project opportunities that strengthen artisans’ skills and foster cultural exchange. Through our programmes, we create accessible spaces where craftsmanship, creativity, and inclusion can grow, sustaining craft traditions while enabling innovation and long-term professional development.

Activities
Sensus also runs craft-based programmes for people with visual impairments and intellectual disabilities, ensuring accessible, inclusive, and creative learning environments for participants with diverse needs.
Projects
Our past projects have resulted in lasting learning materials, craft-based training modules, toolkits, and digital resources that are still used nationwide. We have also built long-term collaborations between artisans, educators, and cultural organisations, strengthening professional exchange in Europe. Several initiatives continue beyond the project period through ongoing study circles, workshops, and inclusive craft programmes.
