Galéria Drôtu
Galéria drôtu (Wire Gallery) is NGO which is concerned in wire art and craft. We are trying to preserve, promote and raise wire art and craft which became part of List of Intangible Cultural Heritage UNESCO. We are organizing collective exhibitons, workshops, courses and trying to connect wire artists. At the moment, we are trying to build unique place – Wire Art and Craft Center where visitors could come to learn, to create and more.
Links with craft sector
We are group of craftsmen and craft enthusiasts mainly concerned in wire art and craft but many of us are also multicraftsmen who has loads of craft skills. Us as a organization - we are supporting craftsmen in creation by exhibiting their pieces at our exhibitions, offering opportunities exhibiting in other countries, inviting craftsmen to realize workshops and trying to connect with wider audience.

Activities
At the moment we are starting new project - renovation of old building to create House of Wire Art and Craft which is a mix of looking for funding opportunities, connecting community and promoting craft in general.
Projects
One of our most successful activities is organizing exhibitions, every year we organize big exhibition of new artworks from previous year in capital (Bratislava) where we have 15000+ visitors (2 months of exhibition). We announce the topic on which wire craftsmen, artist and designers should start to create and afterwards (based on open call) we choose around 80+ pieces to exhibit.

Not yet; we have strong connection with Centre for Folk Art Production and Považské Museum which is specialized on wire craft.
