Tatiana Stropkaiová
My work is a material exploration of the internal human condition. Through a body of figurative oil paintings, I transform the abstract process of self-discovery into a tangible visual diary. Each piece is a testament to my personal research, prayers, and my search for solutions to life’s complex challenges. The works exist as a cohesive narrative, laid out on a natural timeline that documents my journey. My goal is to create art that is more than an object; it can be an active tool that guides the viewer toward their own process of introspection.
My main crafts are figurative oil painting and drawing, which I have been practicing for over 15 years. My deep-seated connection to these slow-paced media stems from their ability to demand patience and preparation, but most importantly, the courage required to showcase an intimate space of the inner world of an artist. I am an avid collector of photographs, obsessed with their power to hold a specific emotional imprint. My artistic process involves transforming these images into my own emotional, enigmatic codes, which may or may not be understood by the viewer. It is this form of bond with painting itself that continues to drive my practice forward.

The Unfolding Path
This is one of the outermost panels from the series The Unfolding Path. The work marks the initial phase of a journey, depicting a figure in a state of focused reflection.
