SUMMARY:Aluminium\, Transfers\, and Ghostly Presences
DESCRIPTION:Are you an artist or craft practitioner interested in working with industrial matter\, exploring the boundaries of material transformation\, and confronting ecological fragility through collective work?\nCRAFT Happening:  Aluminium\, Transfers\, and Ghostly Presences is an exclusive one-day Craft Happening led by visual artist Guillermo del Valle. Organized by ESPRONCEDA – Institute of Art & Culture under the European project Craftwork 4.0 ALL\, this temporary laboratory invites creators to experiment with aluminum and image transfers to reflect on ecological fragility and climate displacement. \nWhat to expect\n\nA pure co-creation process: You won’t just work on a solo piece; we will operate as a single collective to design and build a unified\, large-scale installation.\nDigital-to-physical production: Learn how to source and invert digital imagery to transfer it directly onto metallic surfaces\, creating a visual language of transparencies and ghostly forms.\nA collaborative laboratory: A vibrant environment to share insights with creators\, artists\, and metal enthusiasts from Barcelona and surroundings.\n\nWhat you will gain\n\nAdvanced material skills: Practical experience in combining digital media with traditional and industrial metalwork.\nExhibition opportunity: The collective artwork created during this session will be selected to be showcased at the ESPRONCEDA CRAFT Festival (from the 2th to the 4th of December)\, held within the prestigious framework of the 30th Anniversary of Drap-Art at ESPRONCEDA.\nInternational framework: Your contribution will be documented as part of the European research for the Craftwork 4.0 ALL project and aligned with the official values of the New European Bauhaus.\n\nCompletely FREE of Charge \nDiscover more >>

SUMMARY:Wood\, Paint & Living Forms — Equilibrium in Practice
DESCRIPTION:A Craft Happening by ESPRONCEDA within the European project Craftwork 4.0 ALL \nAre you an artist or craft practitioner interested in working with living materials\, exploring balance in transformation\, and shaping form through gesture and intuition? \nWood\, Paint & Living Forms is a one-day Craft Happening organized by ESPRONCEDA – Institute of Art & Culture\, as part of the European project Craftwork 4.0 ALL. This collective session invites participants into a temporary lab where wood\, pigment\, fibre\, clay\, plant matter\, and found fragments become tools for sculptural experimentation and shared creation. \nWorkshop description\nBringing together 20 artists and craft practitioners\, Equilibrium in Practice expands the conceptual and material themes of HOMEOSTASIS into a hands-on\, shared creative environment. Participants will co-create a collective sculptural installation inside the gallery\, engaging with both natural and recycled materials. \nWorking with wood\, fibre\, plant matter\, pigment\, clay\, found fragments\, and reclaimed structural elements\, attendees will echo the hybrid materiality found in Mark Redden’s sculptural work. Digital components may also be incorporated\, drawing on ESPRONCEDA’s experience with experimental labs and interdisciplinary formats. \nThe collective piece will evolve continuously throughout the session. Participants will assemble\, dismantle\, and reconfigure sculptural elements in response to one another—enacting homeostasis as a living\, adaptive process where stability and change coexist. The resulting environment becomes a temporary structure shaped by negotiation\, intuition\, and the shared creative metabolism of the group. \nWhat to expect\n\nA collaborative and inspiring environment for exploration and making.\nHands-on experimentation with natural and recycled materials.\nA sculptural methodology rooted in balance\, adaptation\, and shared transformation\nThe opportunity to contribute to a collective artwork connected to the research of the Craftwork 4.0 ALL\nThe resulting installation / co-creation piece will be presented during the Craft Festival organized by ESPRONCEDA in November 2026\, and may also be documented or activated in additional activities of the international programme.\n\n Who is this workshop for?\nThis workshop is ideal for: \n\nvisual artists\nsculptors and installation practitioners\ncraftworkers and makers\ndesigners and architects\nstudents of art\, design\, and craft\nresearchers interested in ecological thinking\, material culture\, and collaborative processes\n\nNo prior experience is required; participants should come with curiosity\, openness\, and a willingness to experiment with materials. \nEvent details\nDate: Tuesday\, 20 January 2026 \nSchedule: 10:00–15:00 \nVenue: ESPRONCEDA – Institute of Art & Culture \nAddress: C/ Espronceda 326\, Nave 4–5\, 08027 Barcelona \nCapacity: 20 participants \nMaterials: All materials provided; participants may bring personal materials or fragments if desired\nFee: Free of charge (limited capacity; priority for artists and craft practitioners) \nHow to participate\nRegister via email: info@espronceda.net \nAbout the Mentor – Mark Redden \nBorn in Dublin in 1979 and based in Barcelona\, Mark Redden is an Irish visual artist working across painting\, sculpture\, and drawing. Using wood\, oil paint\, canvas\, paper\, pigment\, and ink\, he creates abstract works shaped by perception\, balance\, and intuitive interpretation.\nHis practice is deeply informed by material intelligence and traditional craft techniques—including influences from Irish currach boat-building—resulting in symbolic\, mutable forms that oscillate between memory\, emotion\, and sensory reflection. \nAbout Craftwork 4.0 ALL\nCraftwork 4.0 ALL is a European project co-funded by Creative Europe that explores the meeting point between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary digital methodologies. Through international labs\, happenings\, and collaborative encounters\, the project connects artists\, craftspeople\, designers\, and technologists to develop new hybrid forms of making and cultural transmission. \nMore info\nwww.espronceda.net / www.craftwork4all.com \nQuestions? info@espronceda.net \n

SUMMARY:Craft Happening: Participatory Eco-Responsible Stained Glass Workshop
DESCRIPTION:For the upcoming Carrousel des Métiers d’Art et de Création\, Jérôme Gaussin – Artisan du Vitrail • Paris – is presenting a unique live creation performance: “Light Fragments”\, a contemporary stained glass piece based on an original composition by visual artist Lukas Works. A master glassmaker based in Paris\, Jérôme develops a practice that combines traditional know-how with contemporary experimentation\, with a particular focus on sustainable materials. \nAlongside Jérôme\, the public will be invited to take part in certain stages of the process\, notably discovering how glass is cut\, from up close\, at the heart of the master glassmaker’s gestures. \nThe stained glass piece will be assembled using an eco-responsible biopolymer that replaces traditional lead – an innovation developed in the Parisian studio. \n📅 Saturday 6 December\n🕑 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.\n📍 Le Carrousel des Métiers d’Art et de Création\nLe Carreau du Temple\, Paris 3rd arrondissement \nCome and explore a resolutely contemporary vision of stained glass\, at the crossroads of transmission\, experimentation and light.
